In current news, Zimmerman is considered a celebrity as he was chosen to compete in the upcoming celebrity boxing match. He has been reportedly scheduled to fight against Kanye West and DMX. The media is playing into this story, with several blogs and publications providing daily updates on who he will be truly going against.
My response: You got to be kidding me?! The same people who cried for justice for Trayvon are the same people who are following these celebrity boxing updates. Why even glorify this? What roll does integrity play in the creation of these reports? Many people have gone to social media to state their opinions regarding the fight, stating that they want Zimmerman to get beat up. My question is despite wanting him physically hurt (which he does deserve), why is he even considered a celebrity at all? Since when does killing an innocent kid gives you that status?
Despite the drama, this is a day to celebrate the life of Mr. Martin and use his case as an example of what not to do in similar cases and seek justice for the innocent. People everywhere are honoring him today, wearing their hoods proudly. R.I.P.
