Diversity Advocacy, a unit of the Dean of Students Office, welcomed students new and old to Illinois State University with the annual "Kick Off Que 2013".
The annual celebration, which took place last Sunday, provided free food for the students including hamburgers, hot dogs, baked beans and plenty to drink as everyone bathed in the hot sun. Diversity was spread throughout the Bone Student Center Courtyard as the Diversity Advocacy Organizations (Black Student Union (BSU), Pride, Asian Pacific American Coalition (APAC), Association for Latin American Students (ALAS)), NPHC Greek organizations, the multicultural Greek council and others recruited and gave students a taste of their organizations and what they have to offer for the upcoming school year.
The event also included an introduction from Diversity Advocacy's Ashley Taylor and even Vice President of Student Affairs Larry Dietz stopped by to give the students some words of encouragement. ISU alum DJ Rated AG kept everyone on their feet with his amazing mixes. He definitely kept everyone active.
